goliath’s downfall

1 1/2 oz bourbon

1 oz cynar

1/2 oz st. germain

1/2 oz lime juice

2 thin slices cucumber

muddle cucumber.  cover with ice.

combine ingredients and shake.

strain into a bucket over fresh ice.

no garnish.

my friend david’s bartender challenge, which was to mix bourbon with cynar and some citrus, and make something bittersweet.  it’s a little more interesting without the st. germain, but it does take a little of the edge off the bitterness in the finish.
