hothouse flower

1 1/2 oz lemon zest vodka (made in-house, citron would work fine)

1/2 oz jasmine syrup (easy enough to make, can also sub just simple syrup)

3/4 oz lemon juice

1 slice cucumber

dash each angostura and orange bitters (i used regan’s)

4-5 drops orange flower water

mash cucumber, cover with ice.  combine all.

shake, strain into a chilled martini shell.

garnish with lemon and cherry.

last night’s special came about as a result of me walking into the bar and finding some things i wanted to use up (like the jasmine syrup and the lemon zest vodka, both of which predate my tenure at the bar).  the result was quite lovely, a refreshing, flowery concoction that was sweet without being cloying and whose sugar-sour flavor base really let the floral elements shine.
