sunset in paris

1 1/2 oz gin

1/2 oz st. germain

1/2 oz orange juice

1/2 oz aperol

combine gin, st. germain, and orange juice over ice.

shake and strain into a chilled martini shell.

sink aperol.

garnish with lemon zest (i speared it on a bamboo pick, fwiw)

a quick and easy pleaser for a friend of a friend.  it’s a pretty drink; the aperol leaves little traces of itself in the cocktail as it sinks to the bottom, blurring the boundaries between the two (present gravity, the phenomenon that allows for layering cocktails, is one of my best friends), and the orange juice gives it a pleasant, sunny look.
